This problem can usually be resolved by checking the following settings.

• This error can occur if the Require secured password option is enabled in the connection's properties, or an incorrect user name or password have been entered.
• Follow these steps to try to resolve this error.

   

• In Internet Explorer click on Tools > Internet Options.

• Click on the Connections Tab.

• Click the Settings button.

• Click the Properties button.

• Click on the Security Tab.

• Verify the option "Validate my identity as follows" is set to Allow unsecured password.
• Click OK and reconnect to the Internet.
• If this does not work you made need to recreate the dialup connection.
